Pressing the unlock button once will disengage the alarm and unlock the driver's side door. Repeating this action will unlock all doors and the tailgate. The unlock button can also be used to roll down the windows on an extremely hot day or to let fresh air in prior to getting behind the wheel. If you'd like more options, the keyfob could be used to turn on the ERS, which will activate the climate control system in the vehicle and allow it to warm or cool the vehicle to desired temperature when the vehicle is parked.

Put a brand new battery in its place, and snap the fob back together.
Note: Some older Volvos are powered by a different kind of battery, the CR2025. CR2025 batteries are 7 tenths of a millimeter less than a CR2032 battery, which means you must be extra careful when placing the battery of your replacement.
